Welcome to middle school literature and communications skills.
The communications skills classes include grammar, language mechanics, and composition. The objective for the class is for students to be able to organize thoughts into proficient writing. In literature, students will learn that connecting to reading is much more than "I liked it" or "I didn't like it." Through novels, stories, poems, and drama, students are challenged to react, question, predict, speculate about characters' motivations, and make personal connections with the literature.
A middle school book club meets throughout the year. Our next meeting will be on December 10 at 7:30 A.M., and we will discuss Where the Red Fern Grows.
